Words of the Heart
We had that conversation
Where words harmonise with the heart.
In that moment
That fragile, childish heart
Was pounding out its body.
I hoped I could run to a hundred other places.
My mind started racing
My body was shaking
My bones were crumbling
And the thoughts of thousand of other individuals
Tormented me in my self destructive pit of misery.
Either way, through turmoil and doubt
I stayed;
Thinking of the things my heart hoped to say
And facing me , there you were
Calmly strolling through that place
Of feelings and fears.
In our own world of red and purple lights
We chanted with our eyes
And the lips that nearly touched only spoke.
In that moment, words mattered more
Than lustful lips meeting.
Our souls kissed instead
And our hearts made love
For the words that we exchanged
Were reading the same page.
My darling,
How is it that now we are not even reading the same book?
How is it that now our lips have met,
And in spite of that our hearts are distant and cold?
